To coincide with the release of the latest Red Hot Chili Peppers album, I thought I’d throw up the chords for their first single. The Adventures of Raindance Maggie and the album, I’m With You are available everywhere now.
The Adventures of Raindance Maggie
Lip stick junkie be funky all he want
She came back wearing a smile
Look-alike, someone drug me they wanted to unplug me
No one here is on trial, it’s just a turnaround
Of course it doesn’t sound as punchy without Flea’s pumping bassline but it’s cool all the same. Anthony’s new 70’s pornstar ‘tache and the music video can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtBbinpK5XI
Today in history: Back on this day in 1879, the Portugese ship SS Ravenscrag arrived in the little island of Hawaii carrying the immigrants Joao Fernandes, Augusto Dias, Jose do Espirito Santo and Manuel Nunes.
Nothing out of the ordinary, except on this occasion, they were carrying with them a little known four stringed instrument, the ukulele. Historically, these men are considered to have introduced the humble ukulele to Hawaii and it’s people!
So there you go, a happy Hawaiian birthday to the mighty ukulele!
If you’re a lefty and you’ve chosen to swap the strings over on your uke, you’re probably after a flipped chord chart as well. It’s much easier than looking at right handed chord chards and trying to work out the opposite fingering!

A while back I blogged about how the Duke of Uke was in danger of closing for good unless it could find a new location. Backed by their fans, they sold t-shirts and held fundraisers in order to try and stay open. Now thanks to the support of the London uking community they have managed to find a new store front! The brand new Duke of Uke store is now open at:
88 Cheshire Street
London, E2 6EH
